Land-locked Umbria in central Italy grows many different wine varieties, from Sangiovese and Montepulciano to international grapes like Cabernet and Merlot. Their unique gem however is the Montefalco zone where the intense and tannic Sagrantino grape takes center stage. In this entry level expression from Antonelli we get the spice and depth of Sagrantino but it's offset by the more fruit forward Sangiovese and Montepulciano in the blend. Complex with a smoky, meaty character, this wine will take the chill out of a late autumn evening!
